I actually always enjoyed Pokemon Emerald and in all honesty as far as the story and the main gameplay goes, not much has really changed here if I am being honest.
Pokemon Emerald Version is a RPG video game published by Gamefreak, Nintendo released on January 5th, 2005 for the GameBoy Advance. ROM verified Good! CRC32: 1F1C08FB.
Download Pokemon Emerald GBA Rom. Overall, Pokemon Emerald deserves one of the most massive games on the foundation of the Advance Gameboy machine. If you are a Pokemon player, or simply configuring the machine is not enough to play Pokemon Fire Red, then enjoying Pokemon Emerald is not a bad idea! I have played some interesting Pokemon hacks, but Moemon Emerald is taking it to a whole new level. I am sure that you are thinking this right here could be a simple hack of Pokemon Emerald, but that is not actually the case… ok so it is a hack of Pokemon Emerald, but it is not what you are probably thinking of.
Pokemon Are Hot!!!
Have you ever been playing Pokemon and asked yourself, what if these Pokemon I am trying to capture were not “animals” but they were cute anime-style girls? Well, I am not sure many of us had, but that is basically the premise of Moemon Emerald and it is one that I do feel has a lot of charm to it and as a result, I found myself spending way more time with this than I thought I would.
The sprite work here is great. I like how cute they have made the Pokemon look and not went for an oversexualized design like I am sure many people may have thought they would. This is a very charming kind of game and the way that they have managed to have Moemon from multiple regions is something that I think is very cool.
Classic Pokemon
While the sprites have been changed at its heart, I would say that Moemon Emerald is the same Pokemon game you know and love. I actually always enjoyed Pokemon Emerald and in all honesty as far as the story and the main gameplay goes, not much has really changed here if I am being honest. That is not a bad thing and the change in the overall setting does make it feel different, but do not go into this expecting it to be a massively different kind of game. This is a hack that is 100 percent all about the visuals being changed and not much else.
I would wager that most people who have played a Pokemon game before will be able to blow through this one quite quickly. One thing I do feel I have to mention is that in order to play this hack, you do need to have RPG Maker XP RTP in order to get this to run. That may be a sticking point for some people, but it did not bother me.
I really did think that Moemon Emerald was an interesting hack. The idea of taking Pokemon and making them cute anime style girls is interesting, fun and it actually works quite well. Of course, if you love Pokemon the way that they are then this might not be for you. I do in a way actually like the way the hack keeps the core gameplay the same as it does not cause any technical problems as you play. In all, if you want a kind of “different” but at the same time “familiar” Pokemon experience, check this one out.
Final Score: 7.5/10
Pros:
- The Moemon are a fun take on Pokemon
- The sprite work here is well done
- At its heart, it is still Pokemon Emerald
- The game is easy to get into
- It is rather unusual, but I like that
Cons:
- If you like the way Pokemon look, you might not be into these designs
- Not much else has been changed
Whether you’ve played a Pokémon game or not, you've no doubt heard about the franchise and how popular it is. Pokémon games are beloved around the world, and Pokémon Emerald is no different. Let’s jump straight into talking about the gameplay and what to expect if you’ve never played a Pokémon game before.
The Hoenn Region
Mainline Pokémon games all follow the same kind of structure where your goal is to catch Pokémon and level them up so that you can become strong enough to take on the various gym leaders in the region. You also get a Pokédex to complete which is a digital encyclopedia that stores information on all the Pokémon you encounter on your adventure. When it comes to gym leaders, there are 8 to face off against in the Hoenn region, each one representing a different Pokémon type. Once you beat a gym leader and earn their gym badge, you gain access to new areas in the world and can progress in the story, which gives the game a pretty linear structure. After you earn all 8 gym badges, you’re then able to challenge the Elite Four and try your hand at becoming the region’s champion.
But wait, there’s more…
Alongside your quest to become the champion, there's plenty more to the story that you'll discover once you download Pokémon Emerald and try the game out for yourself. The nefarious folks from Team Aqua and Team Magma are going to cause you a lot of trouble, and you may even encounter a legendary Pokémon or two, so be prepared for anything!
The three starter Pokémon
Every mainline Pokemon starts by letting the player choose one of three starter Pokémon. In Pokémon Emerald, those starters are Treecko the Grass-type, Torchic the Fire-type, and Mudkip the Water-type. Whichever one you choose will accompany you throughout your entire journey and will even evolve over time as it reaches certain levels!Alongside the starters, there are over 100 other Pokémon in the game too that you'll be able to catch and add to your party if you so choose. With so much freedom of choice, it's no wonder Pokémon games are so popular!
Pokémon Emerald is a fantastic RPG that doesn’t disappoint. It builds upon Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, offering lots more exciting features that weren’t present in the original Generation III games. Be sure to try this game out, especially if you’ve ever played any other RPGs like Yo-kai Watch and are looking for a similar kind of experience. You’re sure to love it!
